How to Start a Bible Study for Teen Girls: 6 Simple Steps
Maybe you've been thinking about starting a Bible study for teen girls.
You see the girls around you growing up in a complicated world, and you want them to have a place where they can talk honestly about life, grow in their faith, and have a trusted woman walking alongside them.
But then come all the questions.
Who would I invite? Where would we meet? What would I teach? What if I don't know enough? What if only a few girls come?
Starting doesn't have to be complicated.
You don't need a huge group, an elaborate program, or months of preparation. You can begin with a few girls, a place to gather, and a willingness to consistently show up for them.

Here are six simple steps to help you learn how to start a Bible study for teen girls.
1. Choose the Girls You're Going to Invite
Start with the girls already around you.
Think about your church, neighborhood, family, school community, or the families you already know. Who are the teen girls you have a natural connection with?
Write down their names.
Don't worry about creating a large group. Three or four girls sitting around a table can have meaningful conversations and build incredible relationships.
You can also ask another woman to think about the girls she knows. Often, one connection leads to another.
Your first step isn't building a program.
It's identifying a few girls you can invite.
2. Choose Where and When You'll Meet
Keep the logistics simple.
You might gather around your kitchen table, use a room at your church, meet in a community space, or find another safe and comfortable place where girls can relax and talk.
Then choose a schedule you can realistically maintain.
Weekly meetings work well for some groups. Others may meet every other week or twice a month. Consistency matters more than choosing the "right" schedule.
You also don't need an elaborate setup. A table, some comfortable chairs, Bible study supplies, and a snack are enough.
Teen girls aren't coming because your table decorations are amazing.
They're coming because someone cared enough to make a place for them.
3. Choose Your Bible Study
One of the easiest ways to begin is to use a study that gives you a framework for your conversations.
Chicks Ministry Bible studies are created specifically for teen girls and developed through years of working directly with girls. Each study gives you biblical teaching while creating opportunities for girls to think, talk, reflect, and apply what they're learning to real life.
You don't have to create lessons yourself.
Choose the study that best fits the girls you're gathering, and then use the Chicks Ministry Bible Study Resource Hub to find the teaching and additional resources that go with it.

4. Personally Invite Your Girls
A personal invitation can make all the difference.
Instead of simply posting an announcement and hoping girls come, reach out directly to girls and their parents.
You don't need a polished sales pitch. Tell them what you're doing and why you'd love for their daughter to be part of it.
Sample Invitation for a Teen Girl
“I'm starting a Bible study for teen girls, and I'd love for you to come. We're going to hang out, talk about real life and faith, and work through a Bible study written specifically for girls your age. I think you'd be a great part of the group. Would you like to join us?”
Sample Message for a Parent
“I'm starting a Bible study for teen girls, and I'd love to invite [name] to be part of it.
We'll be using a Chicks Ministry Bible study written specifically for teens and spending time talking about faith, life, and what the girls are learning.
We'll meet at [location] on [day/time]. Please let me know if you have any questions. I'd love to have her join us.”
And don't be discouraged if every girl you invite doesn't come.
Invite the girls.
Open the door.
Start with the ones who say yes.
5. Prepare for Your First Meeting
Once you know who's coming, you can prepare for your first gathering.
Start with the basics:
Read through the first week's lesson.
Watch the teaching video or review the resources provided for your study.
Gather the Bible study books, Bibles, pens, journals, and any supplies you'll need.
Pick up an easy snack and drinks.
Think of a simple activity that will help everyone get comfortable.
Pray for each girl who's coming.
Read through the Mentor Quick Start Guide in the Resource Hub before you begin. It will walk you through the resources available and give you additional ideas for leading your group.
But remember: preparing to lead isn't the same as preparing to have all the answers.
Your job isn't to know everything.
Your job is to create a place where girls can learn, ask questions, talk honestly, and discover what it looks like to follow Jesus in their own lives.

6. Gather Your Girls and Begin
This might be the most important step.
Actually start.
There will always be another resource you could read, another activity you could plan, or another detail you could improve.
At some point, you have to open the door and let the girls walk in.
Your first meeting may not go exactly as planned. A conversation might take longer than you expected. Someone might be quiet. You might not get through everything you prepared.
That's okay.
Pay attention to the girls sitting in front of you.
Listen to them.
Learn their names, their personalities, their interests, and what's happening in their lives.
Give them time to get comfortable with you and with each other.
Then keep showing up.
Because over time, something happens when a trusted woman consistently makes space for teen girls.
They begin to talk.
They begin to ask questions.
They begin to trust.
And you have the opportunity to point them toward Jesus as they figure out who they are and the life God created them to live.
You Don't Have to Figure This Out Alone
Starting your group is only the beginning.
