Week 2 Lesson for "How to Live A Beautiful Life"
Let's Do This Together: pgs. 18-26
“God’s Kingdom Is Closer Than You Think”
What Jesus Wants You to Know
We’re constantly surrounded by messages from the world about success, popularity, and how we should live. But what if we flipped the script and lived from a totally different way of seeing the world—a Kingdom mindset?
Take a minute to deal with the doubts or resistance that came to mind. Here are some examples.
It isn't impossible to live from God's kingdom now
There's no fun in God's kingdom
God's kingdom ways feel stuffy and old

Jesus said in Mark 1:15,"The time has come. The Kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!"
Jesus is inviting you into a better way of life that is only available through him. It’s real. And it’s available right now.
God’s Kingdom isn’t a place you’ll go one day—it’s a way of life you can live today. It’s a new way of thinking, choosing, loving, and healing.
When you trust Jesus and follow Him, His Spirit begins to work inside you. You start to see people differently. You care more deeply. You change from the inside out.

For Additional Notes & Thoughts (pg. 26):
Reflection Questions
Explain situations where you see selfishness, competition, or pressure in the world?
What’s different about the way Jesus invites us to live?
Explain how people typically view repentance.
Note: Repentance doesn’t mean beating yourself up. It means turning away from what hurts you and turning toward the One who heals you.
What is God inviting me to let go of? Why do you that matters to him?
What does it look like to turn back to Him in this area of my life?
Think about your school, your town, or even your friends: What needs do you notice? Is there something that breaks your heart or makes you want to take action?
Are there habits, distractions, or attitudes you need to give up so God can use you more?
When you live for something bigger than yourself, you discover the real meaning of life.

Week 2 Podcast Script:
What Is God’s Kingdom Culture?
God’s Kingdom culture is all about His way of living. What if I told you the freedom and wholeness that we long for deep down in our souls is really an ache to be part of the God's kingdom.
Instead of following what the world says is "trending" or "important," we follow what Jesus teaches is important. That means choosing love over hate, peace over anxiety, and serving others over serving ourselves.
Matthew 6:33 says: "Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
When we make God our #1 priority, everything else falls into place.
In this week’s Beautiful Life Bible Study, we will explore what living according to God's will looks like and how it can profoundly shape our lives. Jesus's powerful message in Mark 1:15 serves as our starting point: “The time has come. The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
This statement is not just a call to action; it is an invitation to understand the deeper truths of our faith and its impact on our everyday lives. Let’s discover how we can unlock a beautiful life through God's Kingdom.
World vs. Kingdom: What’s the Difference?
The World Says | God's Kingdom Says |
Focus on yourself (2 Timothy 3:2) | Be humble and serve (Mark 10:45) |
Get rich quick (1 John 2:15-17) | Store treasures in heaven (Matt. 6:19-20) |
Worry all the time (John 14:27) | Trust God and have peace (Phil. 4:6-7) |
Be proud (Prov. 16:18) | Stay humble (James 4:10) |
Get revenge (Rom. 12:19) | Love and forgive (Matt. 5:44) |
What Is God's Kingdom?
God's Kingdom is more than just a concept; it is a way of life that reflects divine principles. When Jesus proclaimed that the Kingdom of God was near, He opened the door for us to experience a life liberated from worldly chaos. By choosing to align ourselves with His teachings, we gain a fresh perspective on life.
For example, imagine facing challenges not with anxiety but with peace. Studies show that people who incorporate spiritual practices into their daily routines often report a 30% increase in overall happiness and a reduction in stress levels. Living in God's Kingdom helps us view the world through a lens of clarity, focus on love, peace, and purpose—elements that come from a relationship with God.
The Availability of God's Kingdom
A central theme in our Bible Study is repentance and belief. These terms represent a radical shift in how we perceive our desires and decisions. Repentance involves turning away from distractions and realigning ourselves with God's vision. This act is not merely about feeling regret; it is about transforming your heart to embrace the plans God has for you.
As you reflect on Day 1 of the study, consider how the world typically operates in comparison to God’s Kingdom. For example, the world may often push us toward competition and selfishness, while God's Kingdom emphasizes love and kindness. A life centered on compassion not only brings joy to ourselves, but to others as well. This shift can lead to stronger relationships and a sense of community.
The Transformation Process
Living in God’s Kingdom is about engaging deeply with the Holy Spirit. This divine presence works in our hearts to enact real change. Transitioning from a worldly perspective to one aligned with God’s teachings requires intentional effort. Here, the idea of “seeking first the Kingdom of God” plays a crucial role.
For instance, a teenager who chooses to focus on being kind over seeking popularity often finds their friendships deepen and their joy increases. This act of seeking God's desires over personal ambitions can lead to a transformation that brightens not just one's own life but the lives of those around them. As you draw closer to God, your thoughts and actions will start to reflect positivity and purpose.
Why Repentance Matters
On Day 2, our study invites you to ponder the importance of repentance in your own life. Repentance is not just about admitting mistakes; it is your pathway to experiencing God's love in all its fullness. By letting go of harmful thoughts, grudges, or toxic relationships, you can fully embrace a more enriching and fulfilling life.
Consider your surroundings: What needs do you notice? What challenges pull at your heartstrings? As you turn away from self-centered habits, you position yourself as a source of healing. You become someone through whom God’s Kingdom can thrive, promoting love and support in your community.
Embracing Community
As we move through this week, it's vital to understand that life in God’s Kingdom is not solitary. It thrives in community. For Day 3, contemplate the needs within your community and how you can help.
Whether it's volunteering at a local shelter, writing notes of encouragement, or just being kind and helpful to someone in need, remember that every action counts. Community life in God’s Kingdom is less about individual glory and more about collective growth and support. Research indicates that people engaged in community service report feeling 25% more fulfilled than those who do not participate in support activities.
Aligning Habits with God's Will
As teenagers, we often grapple with social expectations and pressures. God invites us to pause and reflect on our daily choices. Which habits are keeping you from experiencing the fullness of life He intends for you? This week is an excellent opportunity to journal your thoughts and pray for guidance.
Seek advice from trusted friends, mentors, or leaders within your faith community. They can provide insight and help hold you accountable as you work toward developing new habits that align with God’s will.
How to Live the Kingdom Way Every Day
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you:
1. Love Like Jesus. Show love even when it’s hard. Forgive people—even the ones who don’t say sorry.
2. Trust God More. Stop stressing and start praying. God’s got you.
3. Stay Humble. Serve others without expecting anything back. That’s Kingdom living.
4. Use Your Gifts for Good. Whether it's music, art, sports, or just being a good friend—use it all for God.
Take This With You
Start your mornings with prayer.
Read a verse a day and really think about it.
Ask God to help you live His way, not the world’s way.
Invite Holy Spirit to fill your heart and mind with his light and love.
Challenge for the Week: Pick one Kingdom value—like love, peace, or humility—and practice it every day, when you want to do the opposite.
You’ve got what it takes to stand out for the right reasons. Let’s build a culture that reflects heaven!
Prayer: "God, help me live by Your Kingdom values. Show me how to love, serve, and trust You every day. Amen."
