The High Way Journal, By Kelly Kirstein, is a guided journal that helps you build faith in Jesus. This post offers one slide per day with simple questions to help you complete each page. Get closer to God one verse at a time.
Prompts to Get You Started.
It may seem difficult to fill a page in your journal at first.
Remember that you can draw, add stickers, or anything else that fits your style.
Celebrate whatever time you spend with God!
Day 1: Journal Pg. 10
Invite the Holy Spirit in. Ask Him to Help You Understand the Verse.
Write Out what You Think It Means
Have You Ever Worshipped this Way Or Seen Someone Else Appear to Worship This Way?
Question to Ponder. How can you connect since you can't see him?
Ask Your Questions and Share Your Heart. (Use Bubble Letters to high light big thoughts. Color and Draw if you start to loose focus or just need a change of pace.)
Day 2: Journal Pg. 11
Use the High Way Steps.
Are there times when it didn't feel like God was very loving?
Do You believe that love is from God? Explain.
In Your Prayer Time ask Holy Spirit to help this truth to sink deep into your heart. Remind yourself of this when hard times come.
Day 3: Journal Pg. 12
Use the High Way Steps.
God is Love is an important truth. Ask Holy Spirit to help you see everything God does through love.
What type of actions take place in a person's life who abides in God's love?
What does it look like when Believers don't abide in love.
What happens when someone doesn't believe that God loves them?
Day 4: Journal Pg. 13
Use the High Way Steps.
If people are going to be rewarded for what they have done, does that change the way you think of anything?
If Jesus is the Beginning and the End, that means he's always been there. Describe a time when you felt like you were alone and he wasn't there.
Day 5: Journal Pg. 14
Use the High Way Steps
Look at the first part of the verse. Imagine a large rock you could stand on. Put into words what it would feel like under your feet.
Perfect, Just, Upright, Faithfulness are all words used to describe God. Would you trust a person who was described like this?
Ask Holy Spirit what he has to say about God. Do words like Holy and Righteous seem intimidating to you? What if they are paired with the word love?
