Break Free of Suicidal Thoughts with Your Sword: Part 5

Pick Up Your Sword:

Cut ties with the Enemy's lies and step into God's Comfort

1.Turn Your Affection to God's Authority and Protection. Resist the Lies

"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7

2. Repent to changes direction and put God in authority.

Many people are put off by the word repent. The truth is it simply means to change your mind. Or to regret something. I suspect you regret allowing suicidal thoughts to make connection with you. So kick the enemy out of your life by repenting for ever coming into agreement with him. Then God will help you cut ties with him.

"Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord!" Lamentations 3:40 ESV

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 ESV

"Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out." Acts 3:19 ESV

3. Once You Repent, close your eyes and visualize holding your sword, then cut the ties of the suicidal thoughts. God's word is your sword. Say this verse several times.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

When you agreed with the suicidal thoughts you a spiritual connection formed between you and the enemy, allowing him to step into authority. Basically he brought you suicidal thoughts and you let them take hold in your mind.

Once you repent (turning back to God) and cut the ties you are free from these thoughts. They no longer have authority over you. When the enemy tries to throw suicidal thoughts at you again recite 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 or just say..."God is my comforter. As his daughter I remain under the protection of his authority."

The LORD is righteous; he has cut the cords of the wicked. Psalm 129:4

4. To Remain Free You must keep your thoughts aligned with God.

Moving forward it is important that you remain in God's love. If you have dark places you hang out, you need to stay away from them. If you have groups you belong to or Instagram pages that feed dark thoughts, cut ties with them. Get rid of anything that would try to pull you back in to connection with those thoughts.

"keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life." Jude 21

Words of Praise to God

"To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without faultand with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen." Jude 24-25
