Bring It Into Play

Having conflict with your friends? What caused the conflict?

What was your part in it?

If you don't think you played any part in it...then how was there are conflict? Be careful not to deceive yourself. God will help you see your part, ask Him.

Even if the other person acted like a jerk first...did your reaction add to the problem? When you own your part, it usually helps you stop rehashing other person's bad behavior because you recognize you aren't perfect either. Recognizing you need grace, helps you extend grace to other people. So the next time you have a conflict, check your heart.

Action Step: Reread Matthew 15:18. Can you think of a time where you spoke really harsh words to someone?

Pray and ask God to help you understand what was going on in your heart.

What would have been a better way to respond?

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I am so grateful for your grace and mercy. Sometimes my words come out really harsh. Help me to remember to stop and pray, when that happens. Please search my heart right now and help me recognize areas that I need to work on. I want to overflow with kindness and love. Thanks for always loving me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
