  • Thought: This verse could be used as a prayer to express to God that you want to learn to do his will.

  • Question: Symbolically in life what type of situations would represent level ground versus things that would represent cliffs and mountains?

  • Thought: Notice the Psalm says that God must teach us to do his will, which implies it doesn't come naturally to us.

  • Question: Why do you think the writer keeps making statements like you are my God or your good Spirit?

Day 2: Journal Pg. 13-14

  • Context: Only believers in Christ are considered sons & daughters of God. In verse 17 God said, "I will live with them and walk among them."

  • Question: How do you think it affects a believer to date or spend a lot of time with unbelievers? Why would God warn believers about this?

Day 3: Journal Pg. 15

  • Commentary: Biblehub.org says "We are all sinners; Christ came into the world to save sinners, to teach sinners, to call sinners to repentance."

  • Question: Why is humility so important to God?

  • Commentary: God's word brings light and life to help us find our way. David says that God's laws preserved his life.

  • Question: Can you think of examples of ways God has protected you through the teachings in his word?

Day 5: Journal Pg. 17

  • Commentary: Biblehub.org says to trust in the Lord with your whole heart means "to wholly & securely rely on God's wisdom, power, and goodness."

  • Question: Explain how it looks different to trust God wholeheartedly versus when you do things your own way.

  • Thought: If you do things your own way, then you are directing your path instead of God.

  • Additional Path Scripture: Psalm 16:11 "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
