Think about how you feel when someone lies to you. It probably makes you question everything they've ever said to you. How to you know what's true and what's not.
For yourself, lying leads you down a very dark path because it means you're hiding. That you don't trust people to love you for who you are. And that you're willing to put what you want before everyone else.
Lying to your parents means you are willing to break the family boundaries. Lying to your friends means that you are only willing to share part of yourself with them. It creates a barrier in the relationship that could leave you feeling very isolated and alone.
