The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Psalm 34:18
Bring It Into Play
Hurt. We all face it. How you walk through it determines whether you sink into depression. Or rise up out of it hopeful.
Stuffing it or not dealing with your pain causes it to pile up until you are dark and drowning. Visualize a hoarders house. In time your pain blocks out the light and causes so much clutter in your mind, it is impossible to live.
There is hope. Jesus can bring light into your darkness. He can help you heal. All you have to do is invite Him into your pain and allow Him to walk with you up out of the darkness.
Action Step: Think about Psalm 34:18. How can knowing that God is close to the brokenhearted help you, when you feel that way?
Lord, you are compassionate, loving, and understanding. I know you are near to me when I hurt. Help me to draw into you to ease the ache of my pain. When did life get so hard? Help me to hold onto the simplicity of my youth. The world seemed so much easier to deal with back them. Help me shed the pain I have been carrying around. Thank you for loving me. I love you back. In Jesus Name, Amen.
