Your Friendships Matter

Bring it Into Play

Friends. They are an important part of your journey. Are your friends helping you become the best person you can be? Or are they pulling you down, as it says in 1 Corinthians 15:33?

As a follower of Jesus, it is important to surround yourself with other people who are following too.

Why?

- Other followers will encourage you to continue to make good decisions.

-They will point you towards Jesus, when life falls apart.

-They will keep you accountable when you start to get off track.

It may sound easier to surround yourself with friends who let you do whatever you want, but I would question whether that is real love?

Can you trust a friend who would sit by and watch you destroy yourself?

Action Step: Do you have friends who follow Jesus?

Yes: List them and thank God for those friends.

No: Make a plan to join a youth group of some type of Christian group that will allow you to hang out with other Christians. Be deliberate about making a new friend.

Prayer

Lord, you came into my life just when I needed you. I can trust that you will always do what it best for me, you will love me even when I am difficult, and you want me to stay out of bad situations. Help me to find friends that will do the same. Help me appreciate the people in my life who go out of their way to keep me on track. I want solid friendships that have Christ in the center. Thanks for helping me with that. I love you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
