Today, a friend of mine and I were having a conversation about comparison. I feel like that has always been a big issue for a lot of people, including myself. We get caught up in this cycle of “I wish I was like this person” or “If only I looked like that person”, and we forget that God made us a certain way for a reason. Anyway, while having this conversation with my friend, I got a picture in my mind of a pair of shoes. I feel like God was saying that so often we try to wear the next person’s shoes. Well, I hate to break it to you, but those shoes aren’t going to fit. No matter how hard you try, you are still going to get calluses and your feet are going to hurt. God is saying that he has you made you specially for a specific pair of shoes. All you have to do is ask him to help you figure out what your size is.
