Bring It Into Play

Imagine that you have the pictured Armed with Truth tattoo on your arm. How could that verse help you handle yourself better in a conflict?

Think of a time when you have had a conflict with a friend or family member. How could scripture and prayer have helped you?

Try the Action Step, so you are prepared before your next conflict hits.

Action Step 1: Create A Battle Card

*Grab a large note card or cut a piece of paper down into a note card size.

*On the card, write "Love Your Neighbor" as a large heading.

Write out 1 John 3:18 & Matthew 22: 37-39 (Mindset Links) and sketch pictures that represent the verses. Get creative...make it your own style.

NOW Let's Practice using it.

Go back to the conflict you thought of earlier. Can you remember the emotions and the way you felt?

Now, invite Jesus into your angry emotions.

Allow the Holy Spirit to penetrate the anger.

Read the scripture on your Battle card. Look at the pictures you drew.

Ask the Holy Spirit for some water to quench that fire!

Father God, you are so powerful and so amazing. Thank you for loving me in spite of the fact that I don't always honor you with my words and emotions. Can we talk about emotions? I need your help to learn to love people, when I get angry. I want to do better, so can you teach me how to use scripture and rely on your Holy Spirit? Sometimes I get out of control. Thanks for always having my back! I love you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
